YOUR CHILD CAN DO BETTER AT COMPETITIVE EXAMS, WITH YOUR HELP

The world is getting all the more competitive by the day. And competitive exams just mirror this fact. With various competitive exams being held every year and the number of students appearing increasing, the overall experience might become a little overwhelming for your child. But there are things you can do to help them face these exams and also do well.

Help them with the little things

Be it helping them make an effective timetable or finding various ways to get their doubts cleared, you come with the special powers to make it easier for your child. For example, if your child is equally interested in attending her swimming classes, you can help her schedule a timetable that does not hamper her studies and also helps her follow her interests. Remember, the key here is to put their interest first and to add to their ease. Make sure that you dont end up making a timetable that overburdens them.

Do not micromanage them

One of the biggest mistakes that you as a parent make is to think that your child is not capable of choosing or deciding for themselves. Understand that your child can row his own boat and the only role you need to play is that of a life-jacket; on the rescue when absolutely required. The point is to not instruct them what to do. If they decide to take a day off from studies, let them. Give them the power to decide. Keep the ball in their court. You will be surprised to see them behaving more responsibly and more willing to study by themselves. Also, having a say in when to do what will help them concentrate better.

Do not compare

Do you not want your child to be unique? If yes, well, she already is! She is not similar to anyone else and that is exactly what you should be proud of. That incessant comparison of grades is never going to help you or her. It will only add to the restlessness, frustration and create communication problems. Understand that your child will grow at their very own, unique pace and that that there is no harm in it. In fact, if you ever find your child comparing themselves to their peers, you should be the one to explain to them that they can always work hard and do better.

Love, Support and nothing else!

Examinations or the days leading up to them could be the most stressful time in your child’s life. You can most definitely help them cope up. Make sure you provide them with nutritious food, encourage them to have a good sleep, and maintain a positive environment around them. Do not overburden or pressurize them. Be their support system and give them all the love, always!

Good luck, parents! We hope you and your child pass with flying colors. For more such blogs, keep following us.
